Wind speed test method Wind speed test has averaged wind speed test and turbulence component (the turbulence of the wind 1~150KHz, with the change of different) of the test.Measurement method of wind speedThe methods of testing the average wind speed are thermal, ultrasonic, impeller, wind cup and skin-towed tube, etc. The following is a description of these methods of determining wind speed.

Wind Speed Test Method

This method tests the change in resistance of the sensor when it is cooled by wind in the energized state, and thus tests the wind speed.Wind direction information cannot be obtained. In addition to being easy and convenient to carry, it has a high cost/performance ratio and is widely used as a standard product for anemometers.Thermal anemometers use platinum wires, thermocouples, and semiconductors, but we use platinum coiled wires.Platinum wire is the most materially stable material. As a result, long-term stability, as well as in temperature compensation, are advantageous.

Working Principle

1. Wind direction part

The wind direction part is supported by the rebound top bar which protects the wind direction disk. The overall structure consists of a wind vane, a wind direction shaft and a wind direction disk, etc. The magnetic bar mounted on the disk and the disk form a magnetic compass to determine the wind direction. When pulling down the locking knob and rotating to the right to position, rebound the top bar will be the wind direction disk down, so that the conical gemstone bearings and the tip of the axle contact, at this time the wind direction disk will automatically set the north. The wind direction indication is determined by the steady position of the wind direction pointer on the wind direction dial. When the locking knob is rotated left and reset upward, the spring-back top bar lifts the windage dial up and positions it on the upper part of the instrument and separates the tapered jeweled bearing from the shaft tip to protect the windage dial and the bearing from damage to the shaft tip.(Note: The instrument must be returned to this state promptly after use)

2. Wind speed part

The wind speed sensor adopts the traditional two-cup rotating frame structure. It turns the wind speed into the rotating speed of the rotating frame. In order to minimize the starting wind speed, a lightweight wind cup made of special material and jeweled bearing support are used. The signal is transmitted to the mainframe for measurement after being detected by a sensor through a device fixed on the rotating frame.

The microcontroller inside the anemometer samples, corrects and calculates the output signals of the wind sensor, and finally the instrument outputs five parameters: instantaneous wind speed/one-minute average wind speed/instantaneous wind speed/one-minute average wind speed/average wind speed/wave height corresponding to the average wind speed. The measured parameters are displayed directly on the instrument's liquid crystal display (LCD).In order to reduce the power consumption of the instrument, the sensors and microcontroller in the instrument have adopted a series of specialized measures to reduce power consumption. In order to ensure the reliability of the data, when the power supply voltage is too low, the battery mark in the lower part of the display shows the lack of power, prompting the user that the power supply voltage is too low and the data has become unreliable, and the battery needs to be replaced in time.

Principle of wind meter

Ultrasonic wind speed and direction meter works by utilizing the ultrasonic time difference method for wind speed measurement. The propagation speed of sound in the air will be superimposed with the airflow speed in the wind direction. If the ultrasonic wave propagates in the same direction as the wind direction, it will speed up; conversely, if the ultrasonic wave propagates in the opposite direction to the wind direction, it will slow down. Therefore, under fixed detection conditions, the speed of ultrasonic wave propagation in the air can correspond to the wind speed function. The precise wind speed and direction can be obtained by calculation. As sound waves propagate through the air, their speed is strongly influenced by temperature; the anemometer detects two opposite directions on two channels, so the temperature has a negligible effect on the speed of the sound waves.

The user can select the wind speed unit, output frequency and output format as required. It is also possible to select the heating unit (recommended for use in icy environments) or analog output as required. It can be connected to a computer, data collector or other acquisition device with RS485 or analog output.Multiple units can also be used in a network if required.
