The wafer butterfly valve is one of the commonly used butterfly valves. It is named because of its structural form in which the valve stem axis, the center of the butterfly plate, and the center of the body are in the same position. The structure of the wafer butterfly valve is very simple and it is also easy to install and maintain. As a component that controls the on-off and flow rate of the pipeline system, the wafer butterfly valve is widely used in pipeline systems in the fields of petroleum, chemical industry, hydropower stations, municipal construction, water supply and drainage, etc.

The sealing form of the wafer butterfly valve is generally a soft seal, and the sealing materials are rubber or polytetrafluoroethylene, so the wafer butterfly valve is usually a soft seal butterfly valve. The advantage of this type of valve is that the seal can be replaced, the sealing performance is excellent and reliable, zero leakage can be achieved, and two-way sealing can be achieved. However, due to the limitations of its own structural characteristics, the wafer butterfly valve also has some disadvantages. Since the butterfly plate and the valve seat of the valve are always in a state of extrusion and scraping, the resistance distance is large, and the wear on the butterfly plate and the valve seat is very large, in order to overcome the extrusion and scraping phenomenon and ensure the sealing performance of the valve, the valve seat of the wafer butterfly valve adopts elastic materials such as rubber or polytetrafluoroethylene to ensure the sealing performance of the valve. However, materials such as rubber and polytetrafluoroethylene are subject to temperature restrictions in use, so the disadvantage of the wafer butterfly valve is that it is not resistant to high temperatures.

The wafer butterfly valve is not suitable for high temperature and high pressure working environments, has poor wear resistance and a short service life. These shortcomings limit the application scope of the valve. In order to overcome this problem, there is now a three-eccentric metal hard seal wafer butterfly valve. The valve stem axis of the three-eccentric metal hard seal wafer butterfly valve deviates from the center of the butterfly plate and the center of the body at the same time, and the valve seat rotation axis and the valve body channel axis have a certain angle. The three-eccentric butterfly valve is more resistant to high temperatures, and also has good sealing performance and a longer service life.
